Mmmm, glorious sunshine

So, today's been good so far. Went out and got a subway's for lunch, then spent an hour in/by the pool in the glorious sunshine. Sitting in the hot tub with a clear blue sky above, and palm trees around... muchos, muchos good.

And it's only 1430.

Missing Canterbury folks though, especially after hearing about how good Mike's party was, and seeing all the photos. Miss you guys :(

Ooops

I may have just bought a second-hand XBox and 7 games for just shy of £100 (just under $200), despite the fact that the XBox 360 is coming out over here in 2 months. I may have included Fable. I may have spent the whole day playing it. It may be rather good.

In other news, went to a BBQ last night to say goodbye to a bunch of AIESECers who're finishing their traineeships and heading back to Egypt. Had a great time, met a bunch of non-AIESEC people too, which was great. I now find myself invited to a big party in two weeks time. Woohoo. Getting to the BBQ was fun though, as Sandy and I got lost, repeatedly. Got there in the end though. Was good.

Full car on the way back, and Sandy let me drive :] First time night driving, and was fine, 'cept I had a tendancy to take corners a little too fast. Got home in one piece though, so I can't have been too bad :P

Anywho, it's almost 1am now. I guess tomorrow will be filled with more Fable :D

About time I updated, dontcha think?

So, yes... what's happened with me over the past 3 weeks.

Well, the week after last entry was fairly uneventful. Took the Friday off though, and flew out to South Carolina for a long weekend, as the Monday (5th Sept) was Labour/Labor Day, which is like a Bank Holiday. Stayed with Missa and Maddy, and met up with Jason and Misty and cute lil Charlie, which was *awesome*. Had a fantastic time there, lots of beer and poker. Went on a Ghost Tour of Columbia too, which was ace. Generally and excellent weekend. The flight back was a bit long though, didn't get back until late on Tuesday evening, and picked up a cold along the way, resulting in me feeling fairly icky for the rest of the week.

Then last weekend I went out shopping and bought the Lost Season 1 boxset, and watched The Man, Transporter 2, and The Constant Gardener at the cinema. Very fun day, that. I finished watching Lost on a few days ago... quite an interesting series, but oh so very frustrating. Season 2 starts here on Wednesday, and it had better be faster paced :P

Again, the past week has been fairly uneventful, quite relaxed. I'm slowly getting back into the swing of working, and although work itself is going slowly, I'm training myself up well on JSP/Servlet technology, and am starting to teach myself JSF now. I've also learnt Ant, and how to create Solaris packages well, and a bundle of other interesting stuff. S'all good.

Went to a BBQ on Friday with AIESEC folks, at a house that's being turned into a community project centre. I looks awesome, and should be a very interesting project. I'm hoping to help out there, should be good.

I still haven't fixed my VW Bus yet, although I ordered the parts I need today. If I have no luck fixing it myself, I'll push it to a garage; there's one right across the road from here. Either that, or I'll get someone to tow it to a VW specialist. I also need to get on with getting my drivers license over here. I've already got my permit, and done some driving, I just need some official lessons to be comfortable. Need to get on that prontopronto.

I have photos up finally from the wotmania Gathering I went to. I also have photos from San Francisco / Alcatraz; both sets can be found on the california photo page

Anywho's I think that's me done for the while. Nothing really planned for the next few weeks except some AIESEC events. I'll hopefully get out to Arizona to see Jessie before long, and then wherever Gloria is now to see Gloria :P

How are you all? I hardly see people these days, and I miss all you guys back in Canterbury :/

And OMG, I've been here for 2 months already >.<
How time flies.
