Piccies! :D

Yesterday afternoon was spent hammering at my computer and knocking out a new image browser as well as all the Holland Photos. After doing that, I went back to Kim's, where we watched two more episodes of ST:TNG S1

Today I have again been hammering away, and have processed/uploaded in the region of 380 photos. That is a _lot_ of photos. They are all from my trip to Michigan

Now I am off to Cafe de China to celebrate Val's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL :D:D) and see people. Tomorrow I'm off early to go home for the weekend and see people back in Romsey.

Argh

Monster update coming up :D

Monday was mainly full of travel. Got up stupidly early, caught a bus to the train station, a train to the airport, a plane to Cinccinati, then a small little hop up to Detroit Metro. We were picked up by John and Amy, then waited around for Tim to arrive about 30 mins after us. Turned out Tims bags had been lost, and may be on the next flight, so we went and got some food, and MOUNTAIN DEW! :D
Tim's bags never turned up, so we went back to Amy's, where we put the tent up and met other people; Jason, Misty, Pamela, Kelly, Josh and Chuck, Amy's husband. The kids were also there; Alex, Sharky (Charlotte) and Charlie... all so cute :D Spent that evening just relaxing and getting to know people. Sheila came over at some point with her two children too, Sarah and Nicholas.

Tuesday was supposed to be zoo day, but it just turned into a lazy day where we didn't do all that much. Birdy and Rana arrived, as did Claire and Craig (Craig went again). So another fun evening of chilling... T'was the taco evening, iirc. Cory also arrived during the evening.

Wednesday was ubercool... we all went to Cedar Point, which is apparantly the biggest themepark thing in the US :D Went on loads of roller coasters, and generally had a LOT of fun hanging out with people and doing funky stuff. Roller coasters were AWESOME, and in the last hour or so, when everything was dark, we managed to get on three coasters. It was all so cool :D Got to know people a bit better too... Managed to occupy Alex for an hour or so by singing and playing catch with Bob's missus (the Duck ;)). It was about a 2-2.5 hour drive away, and Tim, Jennifer and I were all with Cory, and we had a laugh driving about. Was awesome, I cannot say this enough.

Thursday turned out to be the zoo day, and a few of us went off to see the animals. Was quite cool, and again fun to do with people. Saw lots of funky animals, and kept alex entertained again for a little bit :D Alex rocks. That evening, Sheila's John turned up, as did Maddy and Missa. In fact, so many people were turning up by this point, that I won't even try to remember everyone, cos it'll just be really confusing. That evening, we went to this mongolian BBQ place, and met Steff and Dave, her BF. The food was awesome, and the place itself was quite cool... you go along, pick your meat, veggies and sauce, then you watch them cook it. Then you eat it. Was really nice, especially the going out and drinking/chatting afterwards.

Friday was another lazy day, except mid afternoon a few of us decided to go into town to do some shopping. I bought about 6 books (after intending to only get one :P), plus I got a really cool shirt and some patches for my rucksack. Was also amused by arranging the cuddly animals in a charity store into... erm... "positions" ;D
That night was the coolest, with sooo many people there. Beki turned up, as did b00 and Dori, and Joe, and Steffi, and Ryan, and Sue, and Jack, and Sass, and Doug, and, even cooler, Mike, the webmaster of the site. Everyone was awesome, and the whole thing rocked so much.

Saturday was the ren-fest, where a mock medieval village is made up, and everyone dresses up and stuff. There are jousting competetions, archery places, and a whole host of other cool stuff. There were also a whole load of cool shops where you can buy stuff.. I bought a banner, some bracers, a dragon-mug, a necklace for Kim and a leather bookcover. And I could have bought so much else.
The day was over all too quickly, and we headed back to Amy's for a BBQ. The party that night wasn't quite as good, due to several people needing to be up early the next morning, but even though I was one of them, I did an all nighter with Beki, Rod, Tim, SK, Kelly, Rana and Missa. Around 5ish, when we were getting sleepy, we decided to go in search of blueberry pancakes, and the 8 of us piled into Rod's car and drove about. There were 5 of us in the back seats, and it was so funny... was one of the best times ever :D Thanks to all you guys for such a good time :D

Sunday was the travelling home day... slept for all of the flight from DTW to Atlanta, and slept a fair ammmount on the flight from Atlanta to Schiphol. Arrived in Schiphol arround 8am on Monday morning, travelled back to Eindhoven on the train, and then slept for a good 6 hours, got up, ate some food, then went to bed for another 12 or so :D

Tuesday was a lazy day, and I didn't do anything much at all, except finish reading one of the books I bought in the US. Went to bed early, and got woken up at 7am in order to get up, shower, eat some food and go to the airport. Flight back was short and uneventful, got back into the uk at around 0900, then trained it to Liverpool St, tubed it to Victoria, then got on the next train back to Canterbury. After a taxi from Cbury East to my house, it was around 1300... not bad work.

Spent the rest of yesterday doing the unpacking and generally sorting myself out, and then went over to see Kim :x

Today I popped briefly into town to see if Ottakers is open yet (which it isn't), bought a card and pressie for Val whose b'day is tomorrow, and am now in the process of uploading my photos of my holiday. As I have about 500 of these, it may take a while :P

Breathes a sigh. Well, that was an entry and a half :P

America!

The Amsterdam meet on Saturday was fantastic: Met Helene at Leiden (we went to Leiden with Katinka to meet Emma, as we had to drop our bags off there... staying the night), then headed into Amsterdam and met Frank shortly afterwards.
After deciding that Sjoerd wasn't going to show, we headed off to Frank's hotel, then caught the tram to the Vondelpark.

Spent a really nice afternoon in the sun, ate, chatted, played some football, took some photos, etc :D
The went to the Leidesplein (Beer Plaza :D) for a drink, then tried to find a restaurant for a meal. The first one we went into sucked (the lady was all haughty, and put her nose up when we said we wanted water to drink, and only wanted a main course instead of a three course menu), so we found another place, which did pasta, where everyone was friendly. Had a good time.... I told people the Black Ping-Pong Ball Joke ;D

After that, we wandered towards and though the Red Light District, (and bought Kim somthing ;D), then found another beer place, had another drink, then headed for the train station, whilst Frank headed for his hotel.

Yesterday we spent looking around Leiden, which was really beautiful. Like many cities in the Netherlands, it is riddled with canals, and it was all very nice. Then, in the evening, Jennifer and I went to Helene's house to eat (feta cheese with honey and pinenuts in filo pastry, mmmMMMMMMMMmmmm!), and we also had fun with her webcam thing.

Now, it's time to leave to catch a bus to catch a train to catch a plane...

...TO AMERICA!

Netherlands :D

Another long update, because yet again, I don't do it often enough :P

Monday was supercoolmostexcellent, went to Pizza Hut at 1300 with Kim, Wendy, Tom, Sophie, Dave, Ka, Cutter, Chris, Val and a guy I've never met before, and now forgotten his name. Smaf, or somthing :P After that, Kim and I went to see I, Robot, which I thought was very, vert good. Enjoyed it alot, although it _could_ have been better. I'm not complaining though.
Headed back to DBS (Kim's house :P) after, and spent a pleasant evening with Kim, before taxiing back home to pack my bags. At least, that was the intention... ended up watching Aliens with my housemates instead.

Woke up early on Tuesday, and got everything sorted out in time... got the train to stansted ok, and was in Eindhoven by 2015. Spent the evening talking to Jennifer and her parents, who are all really cool.

Wednesday we went to one of the local cities, and went arounf the cathedral there, which was really, really cool, lots of funky stuff. Also spent money on the first two graphic novels in the "Books of Magic" series. Great stuff, since I couldn't find them anywhere in the UK. A lazy evening followed.

Thursday was again very lazy... read alot of my book, and also went shopping for picnic stuff for the picnic on Saturday in Amsterdam.

Today has also been lazy: I've been sleeping so much better here than I have been at home, and not waking up until 10 or 11. Soooo nice :D It's Jennifer's mum's birthday today, so lots of her friends are over at the moment, all speaking scary ammounts of Dutch :S Having a good time though :D

Tomorrow is the Amsterdam meet: gotta be up early to travel to lots of places, pick people up, drop stuff off, etc etc. Should be great fun :D

Well, I've gone a whole week without posting again....

And I can't remember half of what happened this week. Felt quite ill at the start of the week, I can remember that much: Went up to EBR and did lots of relaxing on the hilleh, iirc

Anyway, things got interesting again on Thursday, when we had the "Girls night" and "Boys night". The blokes (Dave, Deeps, Ben, Ka, Tom, Mike and I) went to spoons for the curry night, had a few beers and a general laugh. We decided to gatecrash the girls night, and picked up a road sign and a traffic cone on the way back in lieu of beer (the off license was closed). Came in through Mike's window instead of the front door, and everyone got through except for Mike, who managed to knock over about 3 different things: set us all off laughing. The night was excellent, with much friendship and good will. And lots of truths (a few dares too... nice strip tease from Deeps).

Next morning was a nice and relaxing one: went to BK for food around 2ish, and decided to go swimming, seeing as it was quite hot. Mike, Jen, Bel, Wendy Mikky and I all went swimming, and spent a very nice 2 hours or so relaxing in the water. Then we headed off to Supernoodles (via Wendy's house) to meet some rocksoc'ers for a chinese. Kim and I headed off home after that, and finished off the evening with some StarTrek (Series 1).

Saturday was lazy: watched a fair ammount of Star Trek, then went back to my place (via Blockbusters, where I got some DVD's... The Usual Suspects, Paycheck and Gunshy for me, and Big Fish and Blackball for Kim), to find my Amazon order had arrived (Pure Moods vol1, TB3 and Amarok, Gattaca on DVD, and two Books of Magic thingies). Spent another lazy evening, watched The Usual Suspects (first time for Kim, and she loved it :D), then slept. Icky, horrible humid night :(

Today has again been lazy: haven't really done anything much except wash a whole load of clothes.

Probably gonna go see I, Robot tomorrow, (as well as pack to go to Holland, and a whole host of other stuff I need to do... haircut too!), with maybe a meal before. Need to organise people for that. Or maybe just have a "Me and Kim" thing. Dunno, I'll see who wants to come along.

I really need to get back into the habit of writing in here...

Yesterday wasn't so much of a lazy day in the end as I met everyone in town and chilled out with them for the afternoon. Went to Dane John gardens and lazed in the sun, and watched Bel get chased by a wasp. Seemed to like her, as it actually landed on her lips and gave her a kiss.

Accidentally spent lots of money on Amazon.co.uk yesterday too, buying Pure Moods Vol.1, two Mike Oldfield albums (Amarok and TB3), Gattaca on DVD, and two of the Books of Magic graphic novels (Bindings, and one I hadn't heard of before). Only came to £35 all together though, so that's not too bad.

I started reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown around 11ish last night, and was up until 3am to finish it.... a really good book, but I think the headache I've had all of today was because I was up so late reading :/ Staring at a screen all day hasn't helped matters :/ (Played lots of GTA3 in bed this morning, then jibbled about all day... watched somthing called Riverworld this afternoon which was kind of wierd)

Decided not to go to the beach cos it looked 'orrible this morning, but it cleared up into a really nice day, wish I had gone now :/

Never mind. I've got all the rest of the week to do bugger all too :p

*hugs to Kim*
