Mixed Emotions

Yesterday evening was brilliant, watched UHF with Kim, Fudgeh and Piggeh (brilliant film :D), ate pizza, then watched some wierd/funny stuff I had on my computer, including the pilot episode of Dead Ringers (always a laugh) and some of Monty Python (Live at the Hollywood Bowl), which was good.
So a funny, enjoyable night. Really nice watching funny stuff with friends \o/

Today has been a bit depressing, really, as I have been packing up my room. It's really quite bare and empty now, which is sad. Unearthed some old letters my friends and I used to write to each other, got sad reading those and remembering old times. Also looked through all my old photos too. I feel like an old man, so many memories :P

Anyway, looking forwards to going to Norway on Weds, and tomorrow is gonna be good; Going to Ashford to watch Harry Potter and The Day After Tomorrow with KFC-age, and maybe beerage after :D

At the end of July, I'm going to a music festival in Denmark, and one of the bands lined up is Muse... Kim is gonna be jealous :P

Went to Broadstairs yesterday with a whole load of people, t'was pretty cool. I bought a really cool hat, and went swimming in a freeeeezing sea, and got buried in sand, and ate finsh and chips, and played in the arcade, and, and, and... had a reeally cool time :D

Got back late, due to train delays, the headed over to Kim (who didn't beach because she was ill :( ), and watched two episodes of Fawlty Towers... one of which was The Germans! XD It's SUCH a funny episode! :D

Kim went and got her hair cut today, and I picked up a whole load of boxes, and I'm gonna start clearing out my room, pcking stuff up, and general tidying. Kinda depressing :(

The exam was nice and easy for me, and I left with loads of time to spare; Spent the afternoon in woody's, then headed over to Kim's. Today, I went shopping, and spent lots of money on some reeeeally cool clothes, and a sleeping bag.

I'm feeling really happy at the moment; Life is looking good :D

So, after a week of exams...

I might finally get around to updating this journal :P

Last Tuesday - Last Friday
First exam was Java. Did ok in it, no particularly hard questions. Came out early, and headed over to the hill between RF and Eliot (hereafter referred to as "The Hilleh" :D).
All of last week as faded into one huge blob for me, as there were exams virtually every day, and we did the same thing every day... exam, followed by hilleh. Which was incredibly nice, seeing as the weather has been beautiful for the past week.

So yeah, last week consisted of exams, followed by mooching about and doing nothing much. There have been takeaways involved several times, and once we went out in a field and stargazed for a while, which was nice and snuggly. Yey for friends :D

Weekend
I went to Jen's/Matt's b'day parties (even though their bdays aren't for a while yet... they thought they'd get the party in whilst everyone was still around), came back fairly early from that.... oh, went and saw Troy on Friday afternoon (followed by Pizza Hut), which was ok... not as epic as I had hoped.

Sunday was spent mooching around, and on the hill, and I can't remember what else.

Monday
Yesterday had a horrible 0930 exam, which meant waking up early ( >.< ), but the rest of the day was quite fun (on the hilleh, as usual :D).

Today
Last but one exam today, Maths, which I completely messed up, simply because I'm no use at it :P Hilleh afterwards was shortlived, as it was a little colder, and I spent the afternoon at Dave's, messing with my laptop.

(QNX handles the gfx fine, but not the sound (although good gfx handling is a biiig improvement on debian and gnoppix). Still, I think I'll revert to Win98 (I can't find an SE install anywhere!), and see if I can get OpenOffice, Hugs98 and Java/QJ installed and working properly under it. If not... I'll just scream, and burn the laptop }:D)

Anyway, last exam tomorrow (Case Studies, which I have already passed, due to good coursework :D), so yippeh!

Oh, happy days!

Bah... just wrote a whole load of stuff and it disappeared into the ether.

So... today has been absolutely brilliant :D Started by feeling crap, but after popping a few pills, I was feeling much better and headed out into the sunshine on the hill with Ben, Mike, Kim, Fudgeh and Ben's family. Had a bit of picnic, whilst other people slowly joined us, and then we played cricket for a few hours.
After a break for some refreshments, we played a few games of rounders, before the afternoon degenerated into a general chillout session. It was really, really cool, with virtually everyone out on the hill, relaxing in the sun, climbing trees, throwing water at each other... Wendy was particularly ewul, pouring a whole bottle full over my head.... eeeeeewwuuull!

Around 6ish I headed back home with Bel, Mike and Kim, and I cooked everyone a pasta meal (with mince and a tomato sauce), with toffee syrup sponge and mint-choc-chip icecream to finish.
After that, we headed over to RF-Bar to meet back up with everyone, and played a game of monopoly, which Kim and I sort-of drew with Cutter and Bel (one of these days I'll use the LJUser tags :P).

So all in all, an absolutely wonderful day, even through my throat is all croaky, and my voice is non-existant. I'm sooo happy :D

38 hours until the first exam!! :D

Death Warmed Up

I feel crap. Like, reeeeeally, really crap.

Didn't do much on friday.... went out to the Hill in the afternoon and played with the aerobe, popped over to Origins for a quick dinner, then went to Cinema 3 for the first time and watched Zatoichi, a really cool japanese film... t'was reeeeeeally good.

Saturday was ok... started feeling ill-er again, but grandparents came down to talk to me about some stuff that had been left to me in a will, so that was quite nice :) After that, it was my housemates birthday, so we had a bit of a party-drinkage thing, but around 9ish i was feeling reeeeeally bad, so I came back to my room and flopped, and did pretty much nothing for the rest of the evening. Couldn't sleep well either, which wasn't nice.


So yeah. Feeling crap wouldn't normally be too bad for me, cept its around exams. I'm not sure if it's exam related... it shouldn't be, because I'm not stressed at all about them. I'm just gonna stock up on hayfever stuff, and take loads of flu-cold relief stuff. Hopefully that'll see me through :P

Another big update

Quizzeh on Tuesday evening was quite fun, even though we came near last, as usual :D Some of us stayed behind for a bit to play pool, and got home in the end quite early.

Wednesday involved doing nothing much for most of the day, then heading down into twon with Kim, Mike, Ben, Babs and Fudge to hand in the cheques for rent next year... I handed over £3200 worth of postdated cheques :(
After that, we wandered around for a bit, meeting Bel, b00 and Chris, before heading across to Supernoodles for Kim's (another one :P) b'day foodage. The food was really nice, as was the company :D A really nice meal out.
After that, every one headed over to the Penny Theatre, and I went for a while, but was feeling kinda tired, so Kim and I headed back up to campus around 2230.

Yesterday was another day of doing nothing :D Kim decided to try and do some revision, so I played some FFX, and generally jibbled about... got knoppix to work on my laptop! :D
Around 2000, some of us headed over to the hill and played about with an aerobe, and also dave's new walkie talkies: they are great fun, and because it's an open frequency, lots of people use it.... including the Campus Shop :D
We seriously worried them, I think. Still, very amusing :P
After a brief detour via K-Bar, we ended up back in PW, and we played a few games of TagSoc, with the radios :D The new games worked veeery well, and introducing the radios into it made it very good.
People stayed around at mine for a bit, playing GT3, and left about 0245 this morning. For some strange reason, I stayed up untill about 0630 :S

Anyhows, plan for today is more chillage, I think. Grandparents are coming up to visit tomorrow, and that'll be nice :D

Went into town yesterday afternoon and watched Van Helsing. It was an ok movie... OTT on the action, I think, and poorly made in places, but still fairly enjoyable.
Went on to PizzaHut, where I stuffed myself silly, and then onto the Beercart Arms. Got back to uni around midnight, and watched BadBoys 2 with Kim :D

Not done much today so far, just played about a bit. I intend to start doing some revision at some point this week, but for tonight, quizzeh is on in about 2 hours :D

Feeling better :D

Spent pretty much all of Saturday lazing about and doing nothing much, then headed over to Kim's in the evening to watch some Auzmanga Daiao (or however it's spelt :P), a funny Japanese anime thingy which cheered me up quite a bit.

Jibbled about a bit with my laptop yesterday, and thorougly mucked it up.
Went around to Alex's around 8ish, whipped him at Double Dash, then played some cards with him, Fudgeh, Mike and Piglet. Played Blob, Cheat, and a couple of games of Rummy.
Then we all headed back over to my house, where we were joined by lots of people, and we had our first game of TagSoc is a looooong time... much fun was had by all, although it was a little wet :P
People then came back, and played GT on my PS2 whilst D and Skel had a looky at my laptop... Not entirely sure whats going on with it, especially as I seem to have broken the cable which connects the PCMCIA card to the main ethernet cable. whoops.

Anyhows, feeling much better this morning, I think the exercise did me good last night, and the plan for today involves watching a movie, eating food, and drinking beer. Sounds like a good plan to me :D

Wandering around PW

Well, I had intended to get some sleep, as I was dozing off anyway, then Janine came round; She broke up with her bf last week, and wanted to talk about it, so we did for a little bit... went for a nice little walk around Pawk Wood. Nice fresh air did me a little bit of good too, I think, and it was good to talk to Janine again, haven't seen her for a few weeks.

Anyways, properly off to sleep now.

Ick

Spent most of today in Woodys with people... felt better for a bit, then got worse again towards evening. Came home around 8ish, and watched The Last Samurai... it's an AMAZING film, I recommend it to everyone.

I meant to get an early night, but I guess I'll just be sleeping in again in the morning :P

Debianalisation!

Yesterday evening was quite fun... headed around to Ben's house and spent the evening with Ben, Kirb, Mike, Fudgeh, Bel, Alex, Dave and Skel, and we watched two episodes of Family Guy.... absolutely hilarious stuff! :D

After that, Dave and Skel came back to laugh at my install of Debian on my laptop... immediately after booting, it simply spawns the number "40" repeatedly all over the screen. Quite funnny, but annoying too, so they both stayed and helped me set up a better install.

And it actually works now! The X-windows system is all up and running, the mouse works, and so does the network card (so I managed to connect to the network/internet! woohoo! \o/). Unfortunately, there is no sound though... but I'm working on it :D

All I need to do now is get open office, and some other apps, delete all the junk, and I'm aweh!

Righty-ho then....

I've gone and put all off my old journal entries into my brand new shiney LiveJournal, which is now embedded in an iframe on the Journal page of my website :D

It doesn't look quite how I want it to at the moment, and now that the journal is on the Journal page (where it belongs :P) I'm not too sure what to do with the front page of the site... I'll keep the top entry of the journal on the home page, but I'll need to put some other stuff there to fill the space :D.


The livejournal is too orange... the bars are too thick. Plus, for some reason, the text in the Subject bar refuses to be anything but black :'(

Feeling a bit better now... Spent yesterday chilling out in my room, calmed me down a bit. So yeah, taking deep breaths and staying calm and chiled out today.

I'm gonna do a really quick update, cos I'm feeling really, really crap
The weekend was good, if expensive; Lots of drinking and meeting people. Very good to see Cathy and Dave again. I got home yesterday afternoon, and got very rained on. Went out to Woodys to meet people, then went back to Kim's.
Woke up today feeling awful, went to the doctors to give blood for a blood test, then went into town with Linus, John, Dan, Tadi and Bri to sort out house stuff. We signed a new contract, so thats all sorted, and then went and had another look at the house so Dan could see what it was like. It was shitting it down with rain, and I got drenched cos I stayed behind to ask a few questions about the house, while the others went in the car. Wet and cold and generally feeling crap. This feeling was compounded a little further when we sorted out what the rooms for next year were gonna be, and I got the small box room... Not sure how I'm gonna fit everything into it, might need to sell some stuff off. I certainly won't have room for the doublebed my parents were gonna give me.
So yeah. I really feel quite shit. I'm supposed to be at quizzeh at the moment, but I've got a stinker of a headache. There is swimming tomorrow, which I might go to... depends if I'm alive tomorrow, really.
