So, yeah. Erm.... hows everyone doing? I'm fine, I know you all missed me and my journal entries, so I'd better quickly recap on the past two weeks, while I can still remember what I've been up to.
From my last entry the Planet Lazer social I organised was aboslutely brilliant. Everyone had loads of fun (22 people came along in the end), and out of the two games I came 8th first time and 1st second time :D. I rock \o/ After thr running about, we grabbed a BK (Buy one get on free!), and then headed off to one of the local pubs. We actually found one that wasn't too full (it being St. Paddy's day and all), and had a good few drinks, and had a good discussion about a project for next year called WANK (that would be the Wireless Area Network for Kent, before people get the wrong idea :P ).
Thursday and Friday were spent lazing about again, doing nothing much. Friday evening there was a small little pizzafest at Seraph's house with Kim, Bel, Mike, Pyro, Piglet, Rincewind and Fudgehat. On Saturday the was a proper party at Seraph's, involving lots of drink and fun. (Word of warning. Val is a big meanie, who will kick where she shouldn't kick and throw drink about at the slightest provocation. Stay well away ;) ) The evening was slightly marred by the news of my grandad's death in the early hours of sunday morning though :'(
I actually managed to stay fairly active during the last week of term. Monday, Kim and I decided to go into twon, cos it was a really nice day, and got others to go in with us: a very pleasant afternoon was spent lounging about in the sun drinking milkshakes. It was then up to woody's for a live band (one of our friends was in the band, so we were all there to support, which was really fun. Everyone then walked back down into town to the Beercart Arms, where a few hours was spent drinking until closing time, when the long trek back up the hill to campus began.
Now, unfortunately, Pyro was giving a piggyback to Kim when he tripped up, and fell on the road, badly cutting his face with his glasses. I ended up calling an ambulance, and going into hospital with him and Kim... saw him get stitched up, which was quite funky. Kim and I got back around 3am, after being relieved bu Cutter and Morti.
On Tuesday, I organised a picnic in the afternoon, along with a trip to find the fabled tunne. A railway tunnel used to run beneath the university, but collapsed and had to be closed off. So a large group of us set off to have a
picnic in the sun (which quickly turned to rain :( ), and then went in search of the tunnel. We
found the tunnelily, and took some photos etc. We all walked back to Rutherford bar, where the others ordered Chinese. I went over to Kim's room at watched a movie with her... she was feeling quite shaken by the accident, and wasn't feeling to great. That evening, we all did quizzeh, and played pool for a fair bit afterwards. Much funness.
On Wednesday, Mike, Bel, Chris, Rince and I went swimming, which was great fun. Really, really good, enjoyed myself thoroughly :D Everyone came back to mine when we got back and cooked some food, then we all headed off to Tom's to watch Sophie's film, which was excellent. I had to be up early on Thursday, so I went home to bed fairly soon after that. I was up at 0630 thursday morning for a 5 hour trip to cardiff for my grandad's funeral. The trip was fairly boring, and the service wasn't exactly pleasant, but it was well done, and I was glad to be there. Saw lots of relatives who I haven't seen (in a long time/ever). Got back to Canterbury around 2315, and met Kim, Mike, Rince, Bel and Chris at a playground on the way up the hill to uni, and spent a good 30 mins odd on the swings and roundabouts, staring at the stars. A pleasant end to a sad day. I got a taxi up to uni with Kim when I started to freeze.
(One week down, one week to go.....)
Friday was the last day of term, and the day I had decided to have my birthday party (my birthday was on saturday, but most people had to leave then). I went into town in the morning to pick up some last minute bits and bobs, and then in the afternoon had a
big BBQ to celebrate my B'day / end of term(I forgot to bring my camera, which was very stupid of me. I got video footage of it though! :D) . Much fun was had by all, especially me... was a great afternoon. After the BBQ, everyone piled into my room for a few hours, and then we headed over to Eliot college for their end of term event, Massive Mungos, where the regular bar, Mungos, and taken over the whole of the main dining hall, making it into one hug bar with a bit of a "school disco" feel to it. Got everyone to buy me drinks, and had lots of fun, especially at midnight when everyone counted down and sand happy birthday to me :D. I was feeling fairly tired though, so Kim, Mike and Rince and I left fairly soon after that, and went back to my house, where they gave me my birthday cake (that they had forgotten to give me earlier *rolls eyes* :D ). So yeah, very good day :D On Saturday, I met up with my parents around 11ish. They had come down to canterbury on friday, and found a guesthouse. After giving me some cards and pressies from my siblings, we went food shopping and then into town. After a lot of indecision on my part, I finally got a PS2 with FFX, FFX-2, .hack//infection and Crazy Taxi from my parents for my birthday :D:D:D I'm really really happy about that, thank you so much mum and dad :D That evening, they took Kim and I out for a meal at a chinese restaurant, which was very nice... really good to talk to them properly. Sunday was spent mainly lazing about with Kim, playing alot of FFX. Kim wasn;t feeling to well, with a sore throat, and she went home early on Monday because of it :/ The only other things I've done this week except play alot of FFX and .hack have been to give campus tours on Tues and Weds to a whole load of UXI students at a HE fair which was held on campus. I even got paid for it, and it was great work, walking around in the blazing sunshine (Tues and Weds were glorious days, clear blue skies with a nice hot sun), telling people about the university.
So yeah, thats about it... Now that I haven't got alot to do, I'll (hopefully) be updating this journal alot more.
2056 - I've gone through and added comments to all the photos now, including the old photos from Bill's b'day partey. I aslo added a link to my birthday photos, seeing as I was silly enough not to take my camera along. I did get my video camera out though, I'll see if I can get some movies onto the computer from it.
